Capital gains taxes should be indexed to long term inflation. Our corporate taxes are too high causing corporations to move off-shore taking taxes and jobs with them. Inheritance taxes hurt consumers and family owned businesses. Business buys life insurance to pay for this tax which is passed on to the consumer. Inheritance taxes are a big government tool that drains capital from our free enterprise system. It hurts our economy with very little government income. Payroll taxes should be invested for the workers financial security as specified elsewhere.
I plan to empower middle class workers with my Social Security reform giving them investment opportunities usually reserved for the rich (professional wealth management). Non workers drawing welfare will start working again to obtain these benefits. For the poor, lower class workers, and retired persons I will work to contain inflation to help them live better. Retirees benefits have not kept pace with inflation. I recommend an immediate increase of Sociai Security benefits of 10%. For the rich I offer reduced government regulations. These programs will be self funding in the long term with increased revenues from higher income.
